random Saturday

There's lots of things on my mind right now so this post will be all over the place. *smile*

First- won a challenge over at Cuttlebug blog. The prize- two embossing folders that was just recently released at CHA last week. Wow! I'm so excited to get my prize. Thanks Cuttlebug blog team. Plus I get to post this badge in my blog today. Totally cool!

Here's some recent photos of our kitchen....

floor is done. I'm definitely loving the tile floor.

then we have parts of the wall tiled too. We figured we have to tile the wall behind the stove so if there's splatter it's easier to clean. To balance it out, we placed tiles on the wall infront of the sink too. Nice huh!

I have been a crazy scrapbook supply shopper lately. I even tried to talk my way out of stopping by Tallmouse yesterday but with papers 40% off, I just can't resist. See all these supplies in my bucket? Those are my new stuff that I can't wait to play with.

Plus look at all these papers! It doesn't look much but for me that's thick enough to feel a little overwhelmed. I don't wanna put them away without playing with them, even if that means I'll only cut 1" out of them.

Speaking of papers, I realized that pretty papers are not only good for layouts but it's also a pretty way to wrap up small books. Here's a gift package I made for my mom's birthday tomorrow. I was looking for some pretty wrapping papers the other night and realized that I don't have anymore cute ones in my stock. I didn't want to use a "blah" paper bag so I thumbed through my papers and found these cute ones from the Noteworthy line of Making Memories.

because the papers are only 12x12 in size, I wrapped the books in an angled way (diamond shape). I laid the paper with points on the top instead of sides (boxed way) and wrapped it that way. With this trick, I was able to wrap the book all the way around with a little more paper leftover.

I had a pack of the papers and there were some tags in the pack so I added that too. I also grabbed some Making Memories butterfly ribbon to finish off the gift.

So the next time you're looking to wrap a small gift, rummage through your beautiful but unused papers and you might just wow your family and friends with your cute but inexpensive gift wrap.

That's it! Have a great weekend.

Till next time,
Grace
