"Celebrate" layout

I liked the idea of layering papers from this sketch I found from the Creative Scrappers blog But instead of spreading the layers towards the edge of the bottom left side of the paper, I made the gap between the papers a little bit smaller. I also didn't have square photos so I used one horizontal photo and some 3x4 photo cards to mimic the design on the sketch.

I had put together a homemade scrapbook kit for the month of March and all of the items from this page was taken from that kit. If you ever want to know what I put in my homemade kit, please check out my YouTube channel link on the sidebar of this blog.
The photo is not the greatest but I wanted to document this particular memory for my son. He worked hard on this project and since he chose the topic (Ninja vs. Samurai) he was really invested in it. So proud of him.

"In all things give thanks" layout

I am always on the look out for multi photo sketches. They seem to be rare these days. That was why when I saw this sketch from the  Stuck?! sketch blog I knew that I had to use it for the small 3x4 photos I had.

I used some vellum and cut those as circles so I can incorporate the circle element on the sketch. I then added my photos and other elements as rectangles and squares since that was an easy way to mat my photos and other items.
I also used a bunch of stickers as my embellishments. I tucked and added them to the edges of the photos so make sure that I keep the design towards the center of the page.

"Thankful for 1st days" layout

Hello friends and happy Tuesday. I just want to give you a heads up that since the month is almost over and I wanted to share some projects made based on some challenges, I will have three posts tonight. Like the saying goes, "when it rains, it pours" and apparently so does layouts in my blog on one day. LOL.

This first one was based off of the sketch from The Scraproom kit club blog I am still working with my latest homemade sketch. If you ever want to check it out, make sure you click on the YouTube link on the side bar of this blog and it will take you to my channel. You can find all of my homemade kit shares in their :)

So I flipped the sketch to match my vertical photos. I wasn't sure if I liked the title on the side and going vertical but it has grown on me since making it.
To maximize my limited supply, I cut the papers into strips and just tucked them on the sides of my page. This way I didn't have to use full sheets of papers when I know that most of them will be covered by the photos.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

"Fabulous Teachers" page

Hi there dear friends. Today's page was inspired by the following layout which was part of the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog challenge. For this month, they challenged the readers to scraplift this design....

And here's my take on it...
I followed the basic outline of the page but instead of doing a snow page, I did a layout documenting some of my children's awesome teachers. I loved the bold colors of the page and so I lifted that too.

"Hot Air Balloon Festival" page

Happy 'hump' day everyone. Today's layout share is a double page layout. I had put this event off for a long time because I didn't know how to scrap it. I had taken TONS of photos of this event and they were all colorful. I knew I wanted a lot of them on my page but shrinking them down to small sizes seems a bit of a task so I opted to just choose ten of the best shots and then printed them at 4x6, then I layed them on my page and then filled in the empty spots with products.

The latest Mercy Tiara 27 day challenge helped me to narrow which products to use. In this recipe challenge we were to use:
photo celebrating an event or holiday- I did that with this annual balloon festival event in my area
green- I used some green paper in between my photos
flower- I used some flower sequins, in green too
stamping- I used some Technique Tuesday stamps to add some design to my page. I stamped them on white cardstock first, trimmed it and then added it to my page (I didn't want to ruin my photos in case I messed up on my stamping)

"Hello 10 Months" page

Hi there crafty friends. Today's page was inspired by the following sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap blog. I like how this sketch shows multiple photos, something that I'm seeing less and less these days.

I decided to go back to my third baby's album and work on some unfinished pages. Here are some adorable pictures of him when he was 10 months old and I also documented some things that were considered "milestones" or "firsts" during that month.

Here are some close ups...
All the items in this page was made with scraps.

"How We Celebrate" Series, March edition

Hi dear friends. Welcome to another edition of my monthly series collaboration with a good scrappy friend Nicole. For this month's page, I decided to go with an outdoor page signaling the start of spring. Scroll down to see the page, sketch and process video....

Because this is an event page, I always go with lots of photos. The beauty about lots of photos and that they are 4x6s is that most of the double page layout is filled already. No need to worry about having to fill the page with products. But that can have a negative too if you like "decorating" the page. My solution...use the empty/open spaces within the photos to add stickers, stamping and other embellishments.

Take a look at how I made this page from start to finish....

And here are some more close ups....

Thank you for stopping by. As always if you want to check out Nicole's page and video, please click here.

Make sure you stop by again next month or you can also always hit the 'subscribe' button on my YouTube channel so you will be notified about the next video I post.

Have a great day.
