Autumn Treat Boxes (September 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club)

Hi crafty peeps! How's it going? Autumn is a great time to start the gift giving season. And what better way than to use some paper scraps and stickers to create some cute treat boxes. These ones were made from leftovers from the September 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Products used: Carta Bella “Fall Market”
Stash items used: Brown Twine (American Crafts); 123 Punch board (We R Memory Keepers)
Notes:
I usually create three cards every month, but this time I wanted to switch things up a bit. I loved the papers and stickers from the Carta Bella line but I didn’t have any pictures to match so I just made some treat boxes with the themed products.
I used a tutorial from You Tube to create my boxes. You can find it here- https://youtu.be/LgYmZyk4MHg
I wrapped some twine to the belly band of the boxes for a “natural” feel to it.

And here are some close ups....

Will you make one, or 20 of these cute boxes today? If so, let me know what you'll put in them.

Till next time,
Grace

"Love Spring Break" September 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hi there my dear crafty friends. Can you believe the page below was made with scraps? Yes! And it's all from the September 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club. I love how this kit is always packed with so many products that I can create at least 5 pages and 1 card set or altered item from it.

Products used: Some FOTM mini kits combined + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Hybrid Ink My Favorite Things); Border punch (EK Success); White Cardstock
Notes:
This is my “extra layout” for this month. I love how, despite the mini kits being from different companies and with differing themes, they somehow still blend really well together. This layout is an example of that. There’s a little bit from the four collection but they didn’t clash with each other. The bonus, this page is a spring themed page and yet I was still able to use some papers that have a ‘fall” theme to them.

And here are some close ups....

"Explore" September 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Happy mid month friends. How's your September been? Hope it's going well. Today I'm sharing another layout created with the September 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club. It is also my page with a recipe for the subscribers of the kit club. If you wanna learn more about the kit club and what you can get every month, make sure to check out the website here

Products used: American Crafts Shimelle “Field Trip”
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Hybrid Ink My Favorite Things); Vellum (Worldwin Cardstock); Corner rounder (EK Success)
Notes:
This is my recipe layout for this month. I would always lay down my photos first and then add the papers all around it. This allows me to maximize the products that I have, especially the 3 pattern papers that come in each mini kit.
I love how the astronaut and space themed die cuts matched really well with the air and space museum photos that I have.

Here's the video on how I created the page....

"For the Record" September 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hi there again. I am a big believer in multi photo pages. I feel like my story telling and documenting is richer when there's more than one photo to preserve the memories. Such was the case with this page. And to make the 6 photos stand out better, I decided to go with a grid design. It's one of the pages I created with the September 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club.

Products used: Vicki Boutin “Wildflowers and Honey”
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Hybrid Ink My Favorite Things); Small alphabet stickers (My Mind’s Eye)
Notes:
I used these products for this set of photos because of the vibrant artwork behind one of my photos. I felt the tone of the papers matched the feel of the restaurant that we ate at.
Since I had 6 photos and wanted to only create a single page, I first laid my photos onto my page first then with a ruler, measured the rest of the area so I can cut out papers to fill in those spaces. I also liked how the black cardstock created a good grid for the photos and papers.
To add some dimension to the page, I added some of the die cuts (flowers and heart) with foam adhesive.
There was a die cut “record” word in my kit and I used that as part of my title, I grabbed some smaller alphabet stickers from my stash to complete the title.

Here's my process video for this page...

"Wonderful Birthday" September 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hi there my crafty friends. How's your week coming along? I love Fall/Autumn season. I love the crisp air and all of the pumpkin and apple themed foods! But I also love how the September 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club has a collection that is non Fall theme. It makes it easy for me to scrap items that are not necessarily within the season.

Products used: My Mind’s Eye “One Fine Day”
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Distress mini ink pad, Hybrid Ink My Favorite Things); Chipboard letter stickers (Thickers, American Crafts)
Notes:
These papers were so lovely and fresh that it was just the perfect set to use to document my birthday from a few years back. I usually have my photos in the center, placed horizontally. But I was trying to deviate from my norm so not all of my pages look the same. So to make a “slight” change to my normal design, I turned my photos about 30 degrees so it can look slanted. It worked out just right and I didn’t have to trim any photos.
The stickers were the perfect finishing touches for this page. I added some of them with foam adhesive to give them dimension and the page more interest.

Here's the video on how I created this page...

And here are some more close ups....

Thank you for stopping by.

Tell me, what's your favorite fall themed food? I'm in the mood to try something new.

"Be Unique" September 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hello friends and welcome to a new month. That also means, a new set of projects to share. This first one is from the September 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club. It is also my take on this month's sketch.

Products used: Carta Bella “Fall Market” + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Distress mini ink pad, Hybrid Ink My Favorite Things); Circle cutter (Creative Memories)
Notes:
This is my take on this month’s sketch. I liked the banners and circle but I felt like it needed something more so I added the epoxy banner stickers to the top right edge. It also became a visual triangle element which I used to connect with the black title letter words (bottom right) and black heart (center left).
I didn’t have the square photos so instead, I used 4 3x4 photos.
I inked the edged with some orange ink pad so that I can created emphasis to the shapes but also to add more “fall” colors into the page.

Here's the video on how I created my page.....

And here are some more close ups....

So if you had this collection/kit, what would you scrap with it?

"Three's NOT a crowd" August 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hi there lovely scrapbook friends. Today I'm sharing an extra page that I created using the August 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kitclub. I just love how this kit is jam packed with products that I can create many layouts with it.
Products used: Some FOTM mini kits combined + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Scallop border punch (EK Success); Circle die (My Favorite things); Purple ink pad (Lawn Fawn); Letter stickers (Hambly and Simple Stories); Black pen (American crafts)
Notes:
Since this is my ‘extra page’ this month, I was working with just a handful of papers leftover from other projects. I even had to place my bottom photo strategically in the spot where you see it now so you would not know that the orange dot paper wasn’t a full 12” piece. I created some circles with paper to house my title and journaling. I specifically chose one with lines so it would be easy for me to handwrite my journaling.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Grace

Cards using scraps from the August 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hi guys. Thanks for stopping by. Today I'd like to share three totally different cards using one design and some scraps from the August 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kitclub.
Products used: Some FOTM mini kits combined + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Card base, Twine (American crafts), Corner rounder punch
Notes:
I used a similar design/sketch for all of the cards but changed the theme depending on the papers that I was using. I even added some die cuts and stickers to two of them to create my own themed pattern paper.

And here are some close ups of each card....

Did this inspire you to create some cards with your scraps? I hope so.

"Happy Trails" August 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hi guys. Just a heads up, this will be the first of two posts from me today. It's a busy day of sharing today :)

Speaking of sharing, I'd like to reveal my "recipe" layout for this month's Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kitclub. I love the colors in this collection and this page came together pretty easily.
Products used: Simple Stories “Happy Trails” + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Red Twine (American Crafts); Banner Punch (EK Success); Brown ink pad (Stampendous); Hole punch (Crop-a-dile)
Notes:
These papers were beautiful and I wanted to showcase all of the designs. And to do that, I punched them out with my banner shape and created a few clusters with the banners. Two were your normal banner while one cluster has some banner flags.

And here's the video to go with this layout:

And some more close ups...

Make sure to check out The ScrapRoom kit club for more details about this kit.

"Precious Moments" August 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hi guys. I love color and I love it even more if I can incorporate a lot of them onto a layout. This page is an example of that. I just love the banner paper from the latest Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kitclub.
Products used: Pinkfresh “Just a little lovely” + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: None
Notes:
When I saw this mini collection I was immediately drawn to the paper with banners that had dripping color going down to the rest of the page. I wanted that block but I also wanted more color into my background. So I trimmed just that part of the paper and added it to a white cardstock. At first I thought I would use it vertically but then after adding my photos, I realized that I would be covering most of the words if I did it on its side. So I flipped it 90 degrees and made the banner go on the top instead.

Here's the process video with this layout:

"Smile, You Are Awesome" August 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hi guys and welcome to another share from this month's Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kitclub. The Echo Park, Team Girl collection was super cute and in this page I was able to layer the photos and die cuts to document my girl's first cross country season.
Products used: Echo Park “Team Girl” + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Border punch (EK Success); letter stickers (Studio Calico); Circle punch (EK Success); Hole punch (Crop-a-dile)
Notes:
This collection has some fun graphics in it but combining them together was a bit of a challenge. I didn’t have enough “simple” designed papers to go in between the more graphic papers. So to combat that, I used papers that had the least amount of bold design and matted my photos with that, then I placed the pink paper in between the matt and the background text pattern paper, just so that there’s room to breathe in between layers. I added a 3x4 piece of paper and added the punched circle accents to create my own “handmade” paper.
When I saw the “smile” banner pieces, I knew that I wanted to use it and so it was the inspiration for the rest of the title. I also added some more die cuts and placed them in specific spots to either cover parts of the photo that I didn’t want showing or fill in some empty space in my journaling block.

Here's the process video for this page....

What kind of 'girl' page would you make using this collection?

"Totally Awesome" August 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hi there my dear friends. I can't believe we are already in August. Just a few more months and 2019 will be over. Speaking of August, have you seen the latest Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kitclub? It has some super fun collections included in it. This page that I'm about to share was also created for this month's Freak Fast Friday challenge...

Products used: Echo Park “Team Boy” + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Ink pad (Brown, Stampendous); Circle die (My Favorite Things); Vellum (Worldwin papers)
Notes:
This is my page for this month’s Freaky Fast Friday challenge. I have to say that the required paper cuts were a bit harder for me to work with. There were just so many of them in different configurations that I had a hard time narrowing down the design of my page. Thankfully after moving things around, I was able to find one that I was happy with.
One of the specific paper cut was a 6x6 paper. Instead of using the whole sheet, I cut out some circles fro it instead. Not sure if that’s breaking the challenge “rule” but you know me, I like to break scrappy rules once in a while.
Since the background is busy, I matted my photos with vellum so that there’s a little bit of a spot that separates the background from my photos.

Here's the process video for this page...

Along with some close up pictures....

Make sure to check out the website to see what other challenges TSR is offering this month.

Have a great day.
