"Greatest Party" May Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hi there friends. Today I'm sharing an extra layout that I created with this month's Flavors of the month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club
Products used: Some FOTM mini kits combined + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Distress mini ink pad, Hybrid Ink My Favorite Things); Nested Circle die (Avery Elle); Letter stickers (Thickers, American Crafts); Orange Cardstock (Bazzill)
Notes:
This is my extra layout for this month. I didn’t have many papers to use anymore so I decided to cut some of them with a nesting circle die. This allowed me to use parts of the circles and connect them to each other, showing off varying designs, even if I didn’t have many sheets to play with.
I also used the burger, fries and drink stickers here since this was an event where food was involved (even if it wasn’t quite burgers and fries)

What is your favorite thing to do with your scraps?

Till next time,
Grace

"Sparkle and Shine" May Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hello friends. Today I'm sharing another layouts using the latest Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club. This one is my recipe assignment layout so if you are a subscriber, you will get a word file with how to recreate this layout including cutting instructions.

Products used: Jillibean Soup Spoonful of Soul + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Distress mini ink pad, Hybrid Ink My Favorite Things); Chipboard letters (Thickers, American Crafts); Scallop border punch (Fiskars); Carribean blue cardstock (DCWV); Twine (Yellow, American Crafts)
Notes:
The first thing that drew me to this collection was the paper with flowers. And then I saw some of the same floral design into the die cut sample that I got. This made me decide to handcut the flowers in the paper and create a bed or row of flowers on the bottom of my double page layout. Cutting the papers in varying strips also allowed me to maximize the 3 pieces of paper within this mini kit. My page still feels full of pattern even though I only had to work with not much pattern papers. This just shows you that you can create a well balanced and eye catching double page layout with any of the mini kits within the Flavors of the Month kit.

Thank you for stopping by.

Till next time,
Grace

Mother's Day cards (May Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Happy Mother's day to all of the mothers and women out there. I know, from experience, that you don't have to have given birth in order for you to have made a difference in a child's life so any female that have touched a child's life is a mother to me.
Speaking of what moms do day in and day out, I created this set of cards using the latest Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Products used: Photoplay Best Mom Ever
Stash items used: White cardstock for card bases; White Nuvo Drops; Tea Dye, Distress mini ink pad; Yellow twine (American Crafts)
Notes:
Since I didn’t make any “mother” themed pages this month, I decided to incorporate the fun stickers from the Photoplay collection into cards. I was able to create 4 distinct cards even though the base design was similar. I love how we can take a sketch and make all of our cards different just by using different pattern papers and stickers.

Have a great day,
Grace

"Fabulous Hike" May Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

What's your favorite Spring activity? Mine would have to be being outdoors, especially hiking with the family. It's not so hot yet, but not cold either. Plus the foliage is starting to bloom so that's always fun to discover. This page shows one of our previous hikes and it is made with the latest Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club.

Products used: Simple Stories Oh Happy Day! + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Distress mini ink pad, Hybrid Ink My Favorite Things); Chipboard letters (Thickers, American Crafts)
Notes:
With this page, I really wanted to show off the beautiful papers in this collection. So to get all of the designs without taking away from my photos, I decided to make a grid of them on the sides of my page. I loved how it turned out. I felt like the papers surrounded my photos.
I also liked how the little die cuts and stickers made it easy for me to add some other designs, especially phrases and words, without introducing any new colors.

"Lovely Day" May Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

I've always been a fan of double page layouts. I love seeing them and I love making them. But I also know that sometimes I gravitate towards the same design over and over again. That's why the next layout is very different for me. Do you like it? It's made from one of the mini kits from the latest Flavors of the month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Products used: American Crafts/Shimelle Sparkle City + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Distress mini ink pad, Hybrid Ink My Favorite Things)
Notes:
The design for this layout really started off with the paper that had the slanted or diagonal “wonderful” printed on it. I wanted to incorporate it but I also didn’t want to ruin the placement of the text so I cut it slanted too. This also allowed me to spread it on my two page layout. I filled the rest with pattern paper and the photos so it won’t look too plain.
The camera paper seemed busy enough for me that I didn’t want to incorporate anything more that would distract it. Unfortunately, I also needed it to be more dimensional so it would have a little bit more interest. To fix my problem, I added the silver/foil foam dots in the word thickers sheet to some of the cameras. It was just the right amount of dimension to make them more interesting.
Since the photos are of our little field trip to the truck yard, I decided to add the truck sticker but it had some images on the trailer that didn’t quite mesh with my theme, so I just cut it out and used just the truck image.

Till next time my crafty friends,
Grace

"Wonderful Masons" May Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hello everyone. We are into a new month so that means, there are some shares using this month's Flavors of the month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club. This one uses this month's sketch.

Products used: Photoplay “Best Mom Ever” + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Distress mini ink pad, Hybrid Ink My Favorite Things); Corner rounder punch (EK Success); Chipboard letters (Thickers, American Crafts); White Cardstock
Notes:
This page was based off of this month’s sketch. I turned the sketch on its side to accommodate my vertical photos. I also used 4 smaller 3x4 pics instead of the 4x6 sized ones in the sketch. I deviated the placement of the tabs to accommodate my page better plus added another one to create a visual triangle with them.
The collection is clearly for mothers, however, I didn’t have any printed pictures that fit the bill plus when I saw the colors of my son’s jacket and his friend’s red pants, I knew they would work well with the colors of the papers so I decided to scrap them instead.
I love how the M that is fashioned to look like a superhero M also worked well with these two guys which happens to be both named Mason.

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great day.

Till next time,
Grace
