do you hear that????

yep SILENCE!!! aaahhh gotta love "nap times". They are the best thing ever invented for parents. hehehehehe.

ok so since I have this sweet time all to myself, I figured I'd update my blog and share with you all the "scrap"-roductive weekend I had. SocalScrap had their birthday crop this weekend and I participated in the fun. I taught a CD case class (which is still available for you to see in here) and joined in the games and challenges. Here's some of my finished projects....

Environment inspiration challenge.
The host (Sandi) shared with us a collage of different things (non scrappy) that we can use for inspiration on our next layout. I was inspired by the mirror collage, the diamond ring, butterfly and the patchwork purse that I made this....

Our Sweet home

Supplies used:
Kraft paper- Source unknown; Pattern papers- (light) Hot off the press, (red snowflake) Imaginesce, (red/green) My Mind's Eye, (Merry Christmas) Die Cuts with a View, (Flower) Prima and (green, stripe, square/circle) sources unknown; Letter stickers and chipboards - American Crafts; Butterfly- SEI; Edge border- Page starters, Bazzill; Glitter paper- Source unknown; Journaling font- Simpson, downloaded from the internet; Others- Thread and sewing machine.

Outside the theme challenge
Jessica challenged us to use themed products outside of the theme. I knew I wanted to use this web paper (cause I've been saving it for over two years now!) and brainstormed with hubby as to what theme I should use. He mentioned a lot of stuff but one thing that popped out was when he said "websites". Bingo! after that I knew I had to make a page about my fave websites. This one was so much fun!

My favorite WebSites

Supplies used:
Pattern papers: (spider web) Colorbok, (stripes and diamonds) Imaginesce; Flowers- Prima; Buttons- Favorite findings; Chipboard letters- Center of Attention, Heidi Swapp; Black pen- Millennium, Zig; Journaling font- Simpson, downloaded from the internet

In this one, we were to use items that could be/was purchased in the SCS store. I used fancy pants paper, making memories stamps and american crafts chipboard.

Supplies used: Pattern paper- True, Fancy Pants; journaling stamps- Making memories; Chipboard letters- American crafts; Black pen- Millennium, Zig

Another challenge I was so inspired to do was the "altered ego" challenge. We were to go through our old stash and pick something and use it in a fresh way. I chose my dymo label maker (haven't touched that in a while) and created smile face with tongue sticking out. Just a silly page but I like it!

I used the dot and letter p from the label maker then added another dot to make the eyes complete with white pen.

Supplies used: Papers; stickers and tabs- KI Memories; label maker- Dymo; Pink gel pen- source unknown; Black pen- Millennium, Zig

and to balance things out, I entered the card challenge as well. The rule was to use the colors of the SCS banner/logo and make a birthday card. Finally opened up the SEI butterfly packet I've been coveting. LOL

Supplies used: Cardstock- Die cuts with a View; Pattern paper- source unknown; Die cut shapes and tag- SEI, Sentiment rubon- Scenic Route.

and after a weekend of productive scrapbooking, this is how my table looked like....

not too bad, don't you think? Yes I tend to clean up after every layout is done. That's the only way I can find my scissors under all that pile, you know! {laugh out loud}

Have a great day,
Grace
