show and tell

just wanted to share the projects I made with the coconut scrapshop's monthly kit. The kit had chock full of the new office lingo line from Paislee Paper.

Beyond Beauty

With this page, I went crazy by putting a lot of the embellishments in the kit. Loved the wood flourishes and lace. The circle paper and glitter paper were a perfect combination. The trick to this page is lots of foam adhesive. The diff. heights and texture add to the feel of the whole page.

With this kit the funnest part was playing around with the grungeboard. Here I inked my letters then added dimensional glaze. Let it dry then adhere to the page.

Journaling:
She’s beyond beauty, beyond charming and beyond words. Our dear Madelyn truly knows how to melt a mother’s heart. Look at her here, those innocent eyes, chubby cheeks, thin strands of hair with a proud mama looking over. We are beyond smitten and grateful she’s our little girl.

Essential Play

As for the grungeboard, I "tried" to heat emboss on them and knowing I was never good at that technique I accidentally heated it too much that the edges burned. LOL. But I liked it cause it added that dark edge. I felt it was a happy mistake. LOL.

Journaling:
Outside time at preschool won’t be the same without going down once (or twice) on the slide. It’s like a routine, you run out, play around with the bikes for a little bit then you head to the playground and start enjoying your time at the slides. Soon you will hear the bell signaling it’s time to go back inside for snack time. But you don’t get sad cause you know, you’ll be back outside again, ready to glide, slide and even sashay your way down that slide.

Cyst of Bursa

For the grungeboard here I just colored it in with permanent marker. Quick, easy and no mess.

If you want a space in your journaling to add a pic. Here's my technique: type up your journaling in your word program in a text box. After that add a circle the same size as your pic or element. Position the circle above your journaling on the spot where you want it. Then move the text so that spot will be open. When you've done all this, DELETE the circle then print your journaling block. This way, you have your spot all ready for your element of picture.

Journaling:
November 9, 2007
Last year, Mitch somewhat injured his ankle that caused it to tear inside and swell up with fluids. He got the fluids sucked out last year but recently it came back again. So the Podiatrist suggested he go through an operation where they will go in there and fix the tear. The medical diagnosis was that he had a “Cyst of Bursa”. In the medical dictionary Bursa is referred to a tissue space (fibrous sac) that is lined with synovial membrane (joint tissue) and contains a small quantity of synovial fluid (joint fluid). Bursas are found in between tendon and bone, skin and bone and muscles. They function to facilitate fluid movement. While a retention cyst is a cyst resulting from some obstruction to the excretory duct of a gland. It was an outpatient surgery where which he recovered very well from. He was in good spirits. Too good that he wasn’t taking it easy, I think! Everybody at church had to take a second look at him the Sunday after his surgery while he was walking in the chapel. By the end of our church meetings I asked him if people asked him about his condition and he said that at the end there, he was getting tired of having to explain what happened to him so he just told them that I beat him up!!! Yea right!!!

Happy Mother's Day card

This is a quick card that you can easily put together by clustering elements together. Pick some of your fave dies and embellishments in the kit then put them together in a group.

thank you for looking.

Have a great day,
Grace
