"Let's Wander" April Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Before we move on to the next month, let me share with you one last project that I created with my April Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club....
Products used: Some FOTM mini kits combined + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Distress mini ink pad); Typewriter; White Cardstock; Black Pen (American Crafts); Circle stencil
Notes:
This is my “extra” project for the month. Since I had used up most of the papers from the mini kits, I decided to dive into the embellishment kit to find products that could spark some idea for my page. I was so excited when I found the pack of travel ephemera from Pinkfresh. I used them to go around my photos. I love how the circle shape caused movement in my page and the movement reminds me of traveling.
I wanted to ground my page but since I didn’t have full sheets of papers anymore, I decided to make a frame on the inside edge of my cardstock with the striped pattern paper.
The ephemera pieces had a lot of words already on them so I opted to just use one of them as the official title of this page. When I looked at the page, the word “W” was standing out so I went with that as my title.

Cards made out of scraps (April Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club)

Hi there dear friends. If you are a papercrafter, you know everything about paper scraps. What do you do with them? Do you throw them away? Sometimes I do, especially if it is just a small piece. But for the most part, I turn them into cards. Here are three that I created with the scraps from the various mini kits in the April Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club.
Products used: Some FOTM mini kits combined + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: A2 card bases in three different colors; tiny alpha stickers (Cosmo Cricket); Corner rounder punch (Creative Memories)
Notes:
This card set is a prime example that the Flavors of the Month kit is chock full of products and even with just a few scraps from each mini collection, you can still create cards with it. In each one, I pulled out scraps from just that one line ensuring that all the products I use will blend well together. I added some green tiny alphas from my stash to create or complete my card sentiments. I couldn’t believe how fast these cards came to be with just items that I already had on my table.

And here are the close ups of the cards...

I hope this inspires you to use your scraps to create something fun today.

Till next time,
Grace

"Capturing the Colorful" April Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

I can't believe we are in the middle of April. Time sure flies fast. Which is another reason why I'm grateful for this hobby of mine. It helps me document those moments that I do not want to forget. Just like this special trip to Yellowstone with my family last year. I used the latest Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club to make it.

Products used: Vicki Boutin Kaleidiscope + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Distress mini ink pad, Hybrid Ink My Favorite Things); Black pen (American Crafts); Tiny letter stickers (My Mind’s Eye)
Notes:
This paper collection was tough for me because of the darker shades of the colors. I’m not used t that. But I also liked that the ephemera that went with it enabled me to create  a balance between light and dark colored products.
The stickers were very fun to use as well. There were so much in the two sheets that I got that I couldn’t even use all of them here even if I wanted to.

And here's the process video for this page...

"Gather The Ones You Love" April Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hi friends. Today I'm sharing another page with you. In this one, I used the latest Freak Fast Friday challenge formula from The ScrapRoom kit club...

Products used: Carta Bella Flower Market + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Hybrid Ink, My Favorite Things); White Cardstock, Typewriter; Ink (Distress Mini Ink Pad); Large circle cutter (Creative Memories); Tiny letter stickers (Basic Grey)
Notes:
This is my page for the latest Freaky Fast Friday challenge. I have to say, I had a hard time at first with the specific papers that I was to use, especially since I had 4 3x5 photos to use. I initially wanted to use the circle in the center but with the amount of photos that I had, I would end up covering the circle. So to remedy that, I decided to break up the circles and place the majority of it on the bottom left and then the sliver that I cut out went on the top of my photo block. I loved how it turned out, especially since the larger circle created the perfect spot for my title and journaling.
Speaking of titles, I got the idea for it from one of the stickers in this collection.

And here's the process video for this page....

"Seeing The Sights" April Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

After seeing the papers from this specific collection from Pink Fresh Studio that is part of the latest Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club, I feel the need to travel somewhere soon.
Products used: Pinkfresh Out & About + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Distress mini ink pad, Hybrid ink My favorite Things); Typewriter; White cardstock; Nuvo drops
Notes:
When I saw this collection, the first thing that drew me into it were the papers that had circles and also the one with travel icons. I knew I wanted to use both but was afraid to cut them up. So I decided to create a double page layout so I can showcase both papers but still have room for my photos and stories.
My go to design would be to spread the photos horizontally on my page, but I figured I needed to change things up a bit so my pages won’t all look the same. In this one, I made the photos go vertical and my papers were arranged the same. I tied them together by adding the tags that went with this mini kit.
The paper with icons also had some colorful lines on it so I used that as my “journaling” block. It  was perfect because the lines were already there.

Here's the video of the making of this page from start to finish...

So does this page make you want to go somewhere, or explore a place you've never been to?

"Crossing Over" April Flavors of the Month Kit from The ScrapRoom kit club

Hello my dear friends. Thank you for stopping by. Today I'm sharing a layout that I created with the latest Flavors of the month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club....
Products used: Photoplay Free Bird + Embellishment Kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Hybrid Ink, My Favorite Things); Border punch (American Crafts); Typewriter; White cardstock; Letter stickers (American Crafts, My Little Shoebox)
Notes:
I love the subdued designs of the B side of the papers in this collection. They were the perfect backdrop for my high contrasted photos. I cut the doily in half and placed them in two different spots of my layout to create balance. Since there was a spot on the top doily that would show where I cut the piece, I covered that up with a diamond shape die cut and then added some embellishment on it. By doing this, no one would know that the doily behind was not a full sheet.

Here's the process video for this page....

Have a great rest of the day.
