Warmest Wishes Card

Hello my dear crafty friends.
It's been a crazy few weeks all over the world. I pray that you are safe and healthy as we all ride out the pandemic we call COVID-19. My kids and I are following the stay-at-home order while hubby is working hard since his job is considered an essential one.
I have found that I've held onto my love of papercrafting more now than I have in the past few months. It has helped me cope and the ability to make something with my hands have soothe the anxious feelings of an unknown future.
And since I had the time, I decided to join in some challenges. The first one would be last week's sketch challenge over at the My Favorite Things blog. Here's the sketch...

And here's my take on it....

I recently purchased some dies and stamps from MFT and I was eager to "play" with them so this sketch came at a good time. Since I didn't have any tag similar to the sketch, I decided to use a rectangle stitch die for my frame.

I did use the scallop frame from the Blueprints #27 for my background and I love it. You will probably see more of that die in my future cards. It's just so versatile.

I also wanted to do some coloring and found this cute image from one of my Waffle flower stamps as my main accent. Then I used a sentiment from a Holiday stamp set from MFT. I love that "warmest wishes" can be for anything other than a winter sentiment.

"Enjoying This Stage" (September The ScrapRoom Flavors of the Month Kit)

Happy Sunday dear friends. Today I'm coming to you with my first project for The ScrapRoom for the month of September. It is also my take on this month's sketch. 

Products used: Pretty Little Studio- Savannah Dreams

Stash items used: Date Stamp; Black Ink pad; White Cardstock; My Mind’s Eye letter stickers; Twine, American Crafts; Circle Cutter, Creative Memories

Notes: This one was created with the latest TSR sketch in mind. The sketch called for 2 4x6 photos but I swapped it with a single 5x7 vertical photo. I added some circles cut out from pattern paper like the one on the sketch. I did have to add some twine from my own stash so I can incorporate the thread element in the sketch. I had trimmed the “enjoying” in my title from one of the pattern papers.

"15th Anniversary" layout *ScrapRoom JumpStart Sketch Challenge*

Happy Friday friends. Today I'm sharing the first layout I created with my homemade kit. This one was also inspired by the following sketch over at The ScrapRoom blog. 

I turned the sketch to its side since my photos are mostly vertical. I also wanted space to add four photos instead of the two that were shown in the sketch. 

I had these chipboard shapes within my homemade kit and I dressed one up by heat embossing it with some red powder. I backed up the piece with a red dot paper too.

This "you & me" sign was from a 3x3 piece of cut apart paper and I just fussy cut around the image to create my embellishment. I also added it with some foam adhesive to give it some dimension.

This "so happy" piece is part of a 3x4 paper. I used an exacto knife to cut around the design and tucked the bottom of my photo under there. That way I have both my image and the words showing on my page.

"A Sweet Date" layout

It has been a while but I have found myself looking at my favorite challenge blogs to ignite some inspiration and this page was created with a sketch from Stuck?! sketch blog. 

I used some items from my latest homemade kit. If you want to see what items I have chosen for my March/April homemade scrapbook kit you can view this video...

I had wanted to add some "donut" accents on this page to emphasize the theme and thankfully I had a scrap of paper that had a bunch of donuts on it and so I fuzzy cut them to add them here as embellishments. These are the times that I'm grateful for keeping scraps of papers.

Monthly Celebrations December Edition "Celebrate Christmas Morning"

Hello my dear blog friends. How are you today? Hope you are all well and are enjoying the Holiday season. I am officially on break from school and my list of "fun things to do" is a mile high. Don't know if I will be able to get them all checked off. But it is always nice to know that I can do something else other than school work. :)

Today I am sharing my latest Monthly Celebration page and video. This is a year long collaboration that I've done with my scrappy sister Nicole, ColieBing on YouTube as a way for us to share how we document events in our lives. I have been pushed outside of my comfort zone at times with this project. Especially with creating 12 different double page sketches. Have you seen them all? What did you think of them?

Monthly Celebrations November Edition "Hunting Brothers"

Hello friends. It is that time of the month again where I seem to remember I have a blog and have something to share. Question, how often do you still read blogs? I am trying to think if it is still worth holding on to this platform. If you are ever looking for me, you can also find me on Instagram and You Tube, both links are on the side bar of this blog. 

Ok so Nicole and I are at it again this month. We are sharing another layout that showcases something we celebrate for the month of November. I went with the nontraditional November event and that is a hunting memory. My husband goes hunting with his "mountain man buddies" once a year. They go up in the mountains of Colorado and hunt for Elk.

Monthly Celebrations *May Edition*

Hello friends and happy Saturday. It's that time of the month again. I'm sharing my monthly celebration video this month along with a new sketch. You can watch Nicole's video here. 

I have been working with a lot of 4x6 photos lately and so my pages will showcase that specific photo size. Of course you can add more photos to this design if you are working with smaller pictures. You can even just take one side of the sketch and make a single page layout. Either way I hope you will get inspired. 

I don't have any Mother's day pictures printed so I went with a travel page. I chose this because the place we went to was the Botanical garden. Flowers reminds of Mother's day and that is the connection I used. You can watch me make this layout from start to finish here...

1 Sketch, 3 Layouts (FREE SCRAPBOOK LAYOUT SKETCH)

Oh my goodness! I didn't realize that I haven't shared anything in almost a month. I'm not going to lie, this semester has been rough and tears have been shed, almost on a weekly basis. But scrapbooking is my therapy and although I haven't done it as much, I try to make some pages here and there. 

That leads me straight to the jist of this post. If you have been following me, you know how I LOVE me some scrapbook sketches. They provide the perfect starting point for my pages. Well a few weeks ago, I started to think of this one particular sketch....

And then I thought....what if I use this sketch multiple times so that I can utilize  it to it's fullest and at the same time crank pages faster than I would normally do. And that is how I was able to create the following three pages in one night. Awesome, right? Well here's a little video sharing my thoughts on each page and how they were inspired by the sketch above....
