"You Are Loved" (The ScrapRoom February 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit)

Happy Friday friends. Today the latest Freaky Fast Friday challenge from The ScrapRoom kit club was revealed. You can see it here too..

And here's my take on the challenge, using the latest Flavors of the Month kit.
Products used: Crate Paper “La La Love” + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Black, My Favorite Things); Ink (Tea Dye, Distress Mini Ink Pads); Black Pen (American Crafts); Brown twine (Doodlebug Design Inc.)
Notes:
This is my page for the FFF assignment. I used the 3 3.25” x 4.25” pieces on the bottom to hold my title, journaling and some other fun embellishments. I love that I was able to incorporate 3 photos and still had space to put “fun stuff” like die cuts, tags and stickers.

Here's the process video for this page...

And here are some more close ups...

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you'll join us this month by creating a layout for the challenge.

Till next time,
Grace

"Sweet Love" (The ScrapRoom February 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit)

Hi there my friends. I seldom create a page with just one photo, but once in a while I get an image and although it is imperfect in many ways, it also is perfect in the emotion that it evokes to me. This photo was one of them. I documented it and the feelings behind it using the latest Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club.

Products used: Simple Stories “Kissing Booth” + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Black, My Favorite Things); Scallop border punch (Fiskars); Pink Cardstock (DCWV); Small ampersand sticker (October Afternoon); Ink (Tea Dye, Distress Mini Ink Pads)
Notes:
I rarely use one single photo for my pages, but this one is just so precious to me. It shows my kids and their cousins. These three, although living miles apart, always have a great time when they get together. To make this page fun and also to feature all of the papers in this mini collection, I cut the papers out into small squares and created a quilt block on the right side. I then used the papers as a backdrop for those cute die cuts and stickers that came in the kit.
I have this wider space between two of the rows of the blocks. That’s because I eye balled my placement of the blocks and didn’t quite get it to even out. I had thought of putting something there, maybe a strip of paper or washi but at the end, I like how plain that is. It gave the eye some rest amongst all of the busyness of the rest of the layout.

"Happy Memories" (The ScrapRoom February 2019 Flavors of the Month Kit)

Hello crafty friends. Thank you for stopping by. I can't believe that we are in the eyar 2019 let alone in the second month. Time sure flies by fast. Speaking of time flying fast, I look at these photos of my little guy and I can't believe he will be entering Kindergarten this fall. It feels like it was just yesterday when I gave birth to him.

This double page layout was created using the latest Flavors of the Month kit from The ScrapRoom kit club.

Products used: Carta Bella “Our House” + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: White Cardstock; Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Black, My Favorite Things); Black Pen (American Crafts); Ink (Tea Dye, Distress Mini Ink pads); Brown twine (Doodlebug Design Inc.); Corner rounder punch (EK Success)
Notes:
I loved the papers in this collection. They have a good combination of big floral prints and tiny hearts too. I featured all of them by lining them up on my double page layout. I placed most of my photos on the bottom to give it a good balance of colors and designs.
I then used a combination of stickers and die cut pieces to finish off the layout. One of the tags already had lines so it was an easy product to use for journaling.

And here's the process video....

Here are some more close ups too.

When you think about how time flies fast, what is the first thing that comes to mind?

Have a great day.

Till next time,
Grace

"Winter Christmas Card Set" The Scrap Room Flavor of the Month kit, January 2018

BBrrrrr! Is it cold where you are? I like winters but I appreciate it better if I'm indoors. But I do like the latest winter collection from Simple Stories. Here are three cards that I made using this collection that came from the latest Flavor of the month kit from The Scrap Room kit club.
Products used: Simple Stories “Freezin’ Season” + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: White A2 Card bases; Gold Nuvo Drops (Tonic Studios); Pink Cardstock (DCWV)
Notes: How fun are these die cut and sticker images from the “Freezin’ Season” collection of Simple Stories? I love the addition of pink into this winter collection, they brought a pop of unexpected to an otherwise blue/white combo. I used the same design for all three cards but used various papers to give them unique looks. I then added die cuts and stickers to complete the cards. As a finishing touch, I added some gold Nuvo drops in certain places within the card.

Here are close ups of each card...

"Flower Card Set" The Scrap Room Flavor of the Month kit, January 2018

Hi friends. Are you ready for some card inspiration? Here are some using my paper scraps from the latest Flavor of the month kit from The Scrap Room kit club

Products used: Jillibean Soup “You Make MISO Happy” + Embellishment Kit
Stash items used: White A2 Card bases; Tag die (Newton’s Nook); Frame die (Inspired By Stamping)
Notes: I love using scraps to create my cards. The smaller pieces of paper make for new and interesting card designs; that was the case with these cards. Some of the leftover tags from my layout assignment this month even made a second appearance on one of the cards here. I also used the die cuts that came in the embellishment pack to add some focal images on some of the cards.
Two of the sentiments in the cards came from the washi sticker sheet.

And here are some close ups of each card...

What will you be creating today?

"Happy You" The Scrap Room Flavor of the Month kit, January 2018

Sometimes I try to find unique ways to showcase papers and in this page, I made them into tags. This is my 4th layout from the latest flavor of the month kit from The Scrap Room kit club. It is also my "recipe" assignment so if you are a subscriber you will get the instructions to recreate this page.

Products used: Jillibean Soup “You Make MISO Happy” + Embellishment Kit
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Black, My Favorite Things); Brown Twine (American Crafts); Tag die (Newton’s Nook); Scallop border punch (Fiskars)
Notes: I wanted something different with my design so I decided to show off the papers by making tags with them. I used a die to create the tags which helped make them all uniform in size and shape. I then added them to the page using some twine from my stash.
After adding the photos in the center of the layout, all I needed was to decorate it. And that was made easy by using the die cuts and enamel hearts that were included in the mini kit.

And here is the process video for this page.

"Beautiful Day" The Scrap Room Flavor of the Month kit, January 2018

Hi there friends. Here's my latest layout using the January Flavor of the Month kit from The Scrap Room kit club. I love how these papers are so sophisticated. But I have to say that I also had a hard time finding photos that match it. It's pretty bold and needed some subdued images to go along with it. But I think I manage to find the right pictures, what do you think?

Products used: Fancy Pants Designs “The Yellow Door Collection” + Embellishment kit
Stash items used: Chipboard Thickers letters (American Crafts); Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Black, My Favorite Things)
Notes: This specific mini kit had a bunch of die cut shapes, as well as a paper that had a bunch of cut aparts and I had wanted to maximize the products so I used most of them on the top, peeking out from my paper border. I also added them to the block of photos to fill in the empty spaces. It’s amazing how a little paper here and there made this page full without too much effort on my part.
The kit also came with tags and I used them here, adding the twine for some texture and dimension to the page.
Because the pattern papers were quite busy, I loved how the foam letters from the Embellishment kit stood out against all the busyness. I completed my title with another type of letter stickers, from my stash, which is also white.

Here's the process video for this page...

"Shake Up The Routine" The Scrap Room Flavor of the Month kit, January 2018

This is my second page from the latest Flavor of the month kit from The Scrap Room kit club. Have you seen it? It is so awesome and the variation will inspire you.

Products used: American Crafts/Shimelle “Head in the clouds”
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Black, My Favorite Things); Scallop border punch (Fiskars)
Notes: I liked the patterns in this mini kit, but they were a little bit out of my comfort zone. Since the papers had busy designs on them already, I decided to create my embellishments within the images so as not to add more contrast or compete with the already existing patterns. I fuzzy cut some of the cameras and then added them right on top of the existing image with some foam adhesive. This way, I added some layers to my layout but didn’t have to introduce new designs/images.

Here's the process video of this layout...

"Hello Winter" The Scrap Room Flavor of the Month kit, January 2018

Hello friends and Happy New Year. This is my first post for 2019 and I still can't believe that we are already in this year, let alone days after the 1st. I hope you all had a great Christmas/Holiday season. I'm sharing my first layout using the latest Flavor of the month kit from The Scrap Room kit club. This is also my take on this month's sketch...

Here's my page....
Products used: Simple Stories “Freezin’ Season”
Stash items used: Date stamp (Studio Calico); Ink (Black, My Favorite Things); Border punch (Fiskars); Pink Cardstock (DCWV); Glitter pen (Tonic Studios)
Notes: This page is my take on this month’s sketch. I didn’t have a 4x6 photo so I just placed my 3x4 on the top along with a 4x4 cut out from one of the papers. This block worked as my title block. I added some glitter on the word “winter” using some glimmer pen from my stash. I just love how this little touch added some shine to an otherwise flat element.
The 12x12 sticker sheet that came with the mini kit was chock full of fun embellishments and I used a lot of them in this page. I added some of them with foam adhesive to give my page layers and dimension.
I used a pink cardstock from my stash so that the photos can stand out against the busy background. I chose that specific color because it was in one of the pattern papers. Pulling out colors from the pattern papers will ensure that your cardstock choices match well with the rest of the papers.

And here's the video process video...

And more detail shots...
