Day Camp 2012 + Process video

Happy hump day friends. Today I'm sharing another layout and process video with you. This one was created using my May homemade scrapbook kit. Since this was my 6th layout from the kit, I only had scraps to work with. To make the most of them, I punched out clouds with them.

Here's the video sharing how I created this layout from start to finish....

Happy Memorial day guys. Today I'm starting the week off with a layout share based off of a sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap blog

I'm almost to the end of my homemade scrapbook kit for May called "crush" and instead of using only two 4x6 photos, I loaded this page with 8 2x3 pics.

Happy Birthday layout + process video

Hi crafty friends. I'm back with another layout and a sketch which I based my page from. This time the sketch is from Stuck?! blog.

I am still using my homemade "crush" scrapbook kit but this time I used the blues and reds more than the pink. Although you will see some of the pinks making little appearances here and there in this page.

Thanksgiving 2012 double page spread

Hi there my dear friends. Today I'm sharing a layout that I made with this sketch from Stick it down challenge blog as the base....

Can I just tell you how excited I am with this layout. Excited because this was the first page that I created after not being able to scrap for two whole weeks. Yes dear friends, life is super busy right now that carving time out to enjoy my favorite hobby has been a struggle. Do you feel the same way? Before I would be so stressed about not getting to create but now I just try to remember to breath and know that every thing has it's season and I will eventually get around to doing the things I love the most.

With this layout I used my homemade kit for May called "crush". The color scheme were red, pink and dark blue so it was kind of a challenge to create a thanksgiving layout with it. Luckily I had pulled some brown neutrals that worked well with a fall themed page. That's another thing that I don't stress about too much nowadays, making sure that the pages I create match the season or theme of the layout. Of course I'll add elements to coordinate with the theme but I don't necessarily pick products that scream that holiday. It helps me use up my stash and gets me out of my comfort zone.

The sketch had four photos in it but because I love taking pictures and can't only scrap four from this event, I decided to extend my photos to the right. I also printed them all at 3x4 size so I can get in more pictures in my layout.

I decided to use some tiny letter stickers to add to my journaling. I am finding myself gravitating to handwritten journaling again these days as it makes the process faster for me.

I decided to create circle frames around my pattern papers so I used my Creative Memories circle cutter, cut out the inside circle first then cut out the larger one. I cut out the pattern papers that went under the frames the same size as my circles.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a creative day.

Sweeter together layout + process video

This was my final layout using my April homemade kit. Did you see that I was able to fit in 9 pictures here and still had plenty of room for embellishments? yeah kinda stoked about the results of this layout. ;)

Texas BBQ layout + process video

One of the things that we had to "check off the list" during our road trip to Texas in June of 2011 was to have some Texas BBQ. We found a mom and pop restaurant along the road and decided to check it out. The place wasn't grand but it had some fun accents and the food was delicious that we were so glad we took the chance on this place.

Here's the process video to go along with this layout share...

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my layout.

Roswell layout + process video

Hi crafty friends. So this week, I'm taking a bit of a break from sharing some May projects to share some of my April layouts and process videos that were never uploaded on the blog.

This first one was #5 or #6 layout made with my April homemade kit. I was running out of pattern papers so I made some designs with the cardstock background instead. I don't know about you but I cannot scrapbook just one photo, especially if it's a trip or event. In this page, I was able to cram 8 pictures. Here's the process video if you wanna watch how this layout was made...

I still can't believe that these pictures were from about 4 years ago. It felt like it was just yesterday.

Thank you for stopping by and have a fantastic "creative" week.

Till next time,
Grace

Young at Heart layout

Hello crafty friends. Today I'm sharing another layout made with my May homemade kit. This layout was also inspired by two challenges. A sketch challenge at Stick It Down Challenge blog...

And a recipe/product challenge at Scrap Our Stash blog.

I loved the honeycomb design on the sketch but I remembered that I had pulled a lot of washi tape and trims for my homemade kit and decided to make a layered background with them, mimicking the placement of the honeycomb in the sketch. I still used the doily and turned the sketch 90 degrees so that I can incorporate a vertical line of photos instead of one horizontal 4x6.

For the recipe challenge we were to use products that correspond to each letter of the word "emboss". Here's what I was able to put together...

E- Echo park paper (chevron in the background)
M- Making Memories word stickers
B- Butterfly charm
O- Oval shape brad (the one with glasses)
S- Spellbinders nestabilities (I used one for the black scallop circle behind the butterfly charm)
S- Sharpie pen (for my handwritten journaling)

I participated in two pocket letter swaps last month and the tag along with the label cut outs are from one of the letters I received. I never realized how much fun putting together and receiving pocket letters could be. I just wished I had more time to participate in those. Maybe by summer time.

As I was going through my stickers, I found some Making Memories word and phrase stickers. I cannot believe I've been hoarding them all this time. I am planning to finally use em up this month.

So there you have it. Another page documented. Thank you for stopping by and I hope my page has inspired you to create something today.

Till next time,
Grace

Happy Sister Reunion layout

Hi there friends and welcome to May. I have a few layout shares from last month's homemade scrapbook kit but wanted to get some of my May layouts posted so that I can enter them in some challenges.

I had put together my May kit with this color scheme on International Scrapbook day (May 2nd) but was not able to do a video share before digging into them. Here's the photo of what I was able to put together...

and here's my first layout....

This one was made during NSD and I'm entering this into two challenges. The first one is for the die cut challenge over at StuckOnUSketches blog. I used some die cut shapes from the ephemera pack of a Pink Paislee line called "Pen Pals". I'm also entering this for the latest challenge over at The Studio Challenges blog. The them was be inspired by music and I used one of my favorite songs ("Happy" by Pharrell Williams) as part of the title.

I wanted to play more with my gelatos and I took a free class from Scrapbook.com and I got the idea of adding color to my modeling past with my gelato. In this page, I used two 3x4 white cards and my Heidi Swapp stencils to create my very own textured papers.

I added some doily to my homemade kit for a neutral element and I used that to back up my title.

I got the pink tag in a pocket letter that I received recently (I love putting together and getting pocket letters btw) and layered it with stickers and die cut shapes.

I added more die cut shapes just above the journaling lines and used two pens to add my words to the page.
I finished the page with some splatter of white mist.

So there you have it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come visit again soon.

Till next time,
Grace
