Our Princess layout featuring Princess stamp set from Inspired By Stamping

Hi friends. So today I'm super excited to finally share with you a layout I made with the Princess stamp set from Inspired by Stamping. It's one of the March releases.

and here's my layout...

Our Princess
I thought that the stamp was perfect for this layout of my daughter wearing one of her favorite princess costumes. I had a blast adding stamped images on my layout. I used the crown stamp to add some design to my white ribbon, I created a border with the a stamped image, I stamped the castle, scepter and crown images on light pink paper and then cut them out to create my own embellishments on the page and then I added some stamped words on pattern paper to create my own festive flags.

Supply list: Cardstock, Pattern paper, envelope, toothpick, letter stickers, border punch, thread and sewing machine, ribbon, twine, button, stamps and ink pads.

make sure you stop by the Inspired by Stamping website to check out the rest of the beautiful stamps they offer.

Also don't forget that there is a contest going on at Joanna's blog. Here's the details...

ISBIC #49

Happy Hump Day friends. Today's the reveal for the latest IBSIC blog and here's the prompt...

and here's my take on the visual board inspiration...

A Gift For You card
I wanted to be a little bit of a rebel with this card so instead of using the pinks and greens predominantly in my project, which is the colors that were focused more in the photo, I decided to use the kraft color for my background. Kraft is such a neat neutral base that the pinks and greens popped out better in my card. I also added some whites in there to have a "buffer" between colors.
I added the scallop velvet pink trim because it reminded me of the fancy edge of the pedestal shown in the photo.

I used this stamp and this die cut set from Inspired by Stamping in my card.

oh and to make things even better, here's the prize you can win for this week...

$15 gift certificate to Inspired By Stamping store. :)

Recap for February

Hi friends. Since today's the first day of March, I think it's the best time to take a last look at what my family's been up to in February...

In the beginning of the month we attended Marcus' school Science fair. He got a "participant" ribbon and later on I heard from his Science teacher that he was actively explaining his experiment to the judges of the fair. That's a big deal since this kiddo tends to keep to himself. I'm so proud of him and looking forward to his many more accomplishments in the future.

If you know me or see me on a daily basis, you know that I'm not one to dress up or even put make up on. But once a week, I change up my attitude and I get myself all dolled up for church. I was so happy at how this whole outfit worked well together that I made hubby take a photo of me and my outfit. None of these are new. The dress is from The Limited and was bought four years ago, blue cardigan from Target from two years ago, boots were from Kohl's (another oldie but a goodie) and necklace is from Paparazzi. Can you tell I'm so looking forward to Spring? (Photo taken on the first Sunday of the month)

I finally got one of my home projects accomplished this month. I've been wanting to get a "photo wall" done. Mitch took a trip to Denver earlier this month and I had him stop by Ikea to purchase some photo ledges. I love how this system will allow me to switch up the photos/frames whenever I want without having to drill holes on the wall.

This month, our boy scout troop had their annual Blue and Gold dinner. Marcus got his Bear patch and one Gold arrow point during this event as well. We are so proud of him and he was so thrilled when his den leader handed him a necklace with a bear claw. Now he's a full pledged Bear Scout!

and of course, we had snow this month as well. One was even a record breaking snow fall. The kids enjoyed their snow day building snow forts and tunnels. We tried to make a snow man but it was too powdery for us to make anything turn into a big ball of snow.

and finally something to make you chuckle...the night of Valentine's day while doing dishes, Marcus calls me from behind and when I turned around he was sporting a weird looking line above his upper lip. At first I thought he had drew on himself and when I questioned him, he said that it was a "mustache" temporary tattoo that he got at school from one of his friends as a Valentine's gift. I started laughing because it looked horrible but he wore it so proudly. He said that when he was putting it on, the whole thing didn't transfer very well on his face. I had to take a picture. He has really grown this past year. In the past, he would never try to put anything on himself that would "change" his appearance. He is one that is hard to convince to "try new things". This is a fantastic sign that he is opening up to possibilities and is becoming more flexible. I'm liking the new and improved Marcus, even if that includes a weird looking temporary mustache on his face. *wink*

So that's our stories for this month. How about you? What memories did you preserve for the month of February?

Till next time,
Grace

ISBIC #48

It's that time of the week again...where I share with you the latest challenge prompt over at IBSIC and reveal my take on the challenge...

Best Wishes card
I wanted to add some texture to the light pink cardstock background so I ran it through my Cuttlebug die cut machine with the swirl embossing folder. I think adding some dry embossing technique can make any cardstock from ho-hum to amazing in just a few seconds.

I used this and this stamps for the sentiment of the card. I also used this die cut to match with my stamped image.

Thank you for looking. Don't forget that this month's challenge...

A little note card *Inspired By Stamping*

Hello blog friends. Today Inspired By Stamping is the sponsor for the challenge blog Addicted to Stamps and More. The theme for this week is addicted to stamp. The design team members were asked to share a card featuring IBS stamps and the theme and here's my take on the challenge....

A little note card
I used this and this stamp from IBS. I wanted to feature the circles in my card since it's stamped and the shape stands out against the linear background of the card.

I also added some IBS flowers. Aren't they just adorable?!
