Hello again. Today's layout was inspired by the following sketch from the Sketch N Scrap blog. I liked how the sketch offered three photos. I am finding it rare to find sketches that have multiple photos in them. Do you agree with me?
And here's my take....
My page is kinda busy. With the colors and four 4x6 photos, there are a lot of things to take in. But the sketch helped me "organize" my page. I turned it 180 degrees, putting the photos on the right instead of on the left. I did a lot of layering and tucking things in so that I can stick some accents without taking too much from my photos. I also used a paper pad (Pebbles) to make sure that the items on my page coordinated with one another.
I've been using up some of my "new" products and I added a few of them here. The flair, "I {heart" this" tab, and papers were all from my "new product" stash.
The heart epoxy stickers were actually from a Christmas sticker sheet. The color and shape worked well on this page despite it not being a Christmas layout.
I decided to handwrite my journaling on the lined paper that I tucked behind my photos. I liked that better than doing journaling strips on the right side that will cover the pink paper.

Hello there dear friends. I know I've been quiet around here. It's been a creative month for me but I just haven't had the time to share them yet. I plan on sharing a new page everyday for the next 4-5 days so I hope you'll stop by often.
If you've been reading my blog for a while then you know that I find my mojo the most when I enter challenges. There were a few fun ones this month and this first page was created with the tic tac toe stash challenge over at Scrap Our Stash blog.
I decided to use the color red, polka dot paper and tag. The red is obvious with my Christmas theme page, plus the background is a polka dot red pattern paper. I also used some white Tim Holtz tags on the top right of my photo block.

I decided to use the wood snowflakes as is because of all the other colors of my page. I didn't want it to compete plus a "natural" look added some texture to my page.
I found these gold doilies at a post Christmas clearance sale at Michael's last year and I love how it gives a subtle shine in this page.
The word "remember" in my layout was cut from my Silhouette Cameo machine.

Oh my goodness friends. I didn't realize till now that I have not made any new post since November. How sad is that? But I'm sure you will understand how the holiday season can get pretty busy and blogging gets set aside.
But I do hope that you had a wonderful Christmas season and that 2017 started off well for you.
Today I have some exciting and fun news to share. Last year, I met my "scrappy soulmate sister" online. Yes there is such a thing!
I found Nicole aka ColieBing on YouTube early last year while I was desperately scouring for double page layout inspirations. She is one awesome scrapper and I love her process and how she views memory keeping. If you have not checked her channel yet, please do check it out here.
As we started chatting online, we've come up with a fun new way of sharing our love for scrapbooking via our own style. The monthly video series called "How We Celebrate" was born. I would like to personally invite you to join us once a month for the whole year as we document something important in our lives. Each of us will have a process video to share and maybe some extras along the way :)
For my part, I will share a two page sketch along with all of my pages. Yes, you read that right...12 unique double page layout sketch along with my finished page and a process video. 24 pages from two very passionate scrappers with different styles and process. For this sketch, I wanted to use some 4x6 photos. Because my photos were about snow and there's not much color in the photo itself, I decided to add small sprinkling of color through blocks of papers. I think this sketch can be used for any type of pages, especially if you want to use up some scraps.

I was drawn to the sketch because of the three panels in the center. It was the perfect design for my one vertical 4x6 photo and long journaling plus my title. I actually used a 4x6 cut apart paper for my title. The stars already had some glitter to it so I didn't have to do anything more to create the texture on that block.
I rummaged through my scraps stash and found some papers to create my banner. I used the side of a square punch to create the pennant shape on the bottoms of the paper strips.
I also used my circle punch, scallop circle punch, and star punch to create my layered embellishment. I finished it off with some button and twine.

I love, love, love these photos of my little guy. He looked so comfortable and adorable at the same time. On this page, I pretty much stuck to the sketch and used a ton of scraps of paper for the layering pieces. I have been finding bits and pieces of "gems" in my scrap stash and I love how I can use them up in my latest pages.
I also went through my pocket letter goodies stash, which is basically the items that have been sent to me by my pocket letter pals like stickers, tags and other small embellishments. I had pulled them out of the plastic inserts and combines them in little containers. They are the perfect little accents to add to my page.
I had three owl stickers and I thought to use them as my visual triangle. The owl reminded me of night and sleep so I added it to this page.
I didn't do so well with my stamping the first time and tried really hard to match it perfectly on the second try but alas I didn't so well so you can see some shadowing. I am really going to invest in one of those stamping tool like precision press or Misti soon so I don't have to have this issue.

I liked the block design as it gave me a chance to pull together some smaller papers that I probably would not have enough of if I had to use them for layering. I also liked how each box allowed me to "play" and add stickers over washi over accents and so forth.
I wanted my photos to stand out so I used some photo corners on both of my pictures.
I wanted a large title but since I only have blocks to work with, I laid my title on two lines. It's still readable. I also added a thin washi frame around the words.
I was rummaging through some of my pocket letter goodies and found the butterfly and the stick pin and thought to use it in this page.
This quote was a free printable from Scrapbook Generation that I printed off of a watercolor paper. I didn't do anything to the paper but instead punched out the circle and adhered over the layers of paper and washi strips.
Hi there friends. Today I have the rare opportunity to relax and not do the normal "adult" responsibilities I have to do such as homework. ;) So I am going to take this time (which I will break up in different pots) to share some of my recent scrapbook pages. Are you ready? Here's the first one...
I used two photos instead of the one on the sketch but did the layering similar to the sketch. Instead of adding a circle accent to the top left, I found this cute tent die in my stash and added that to reiterate the "camping" theme.
I stamped on two of the wood square accents. I love that stamping can give me a personalized accent to add to my page.
I stamped the word "family" with one of my fave script font stamps from Echo Park. I also used a hodge podge of letter stickers from Simple Stories. I've been trying to use up my stash lately and it feels good to mix and match some stickers together.

Oh my goodness! I didn't realize that I haven't shared anything in almost a month. I'm not going to lie, this semester has been rough and tears have been shed, almost on a weekly basis. But scrapbooking is my therapy and although I haven't done it as much, I try to make some pages here and there.
That leads me straight to the jist of this post. If you have been following me, you know how I LOVE me some scrapbook sketches. They provide the perfect starting point for my pages. Well a few weeks ago, I started to think of this one particular sketch....
And then I thought....what if I use this sketch multiple times so that I can utilize it to it's fullest and at the same time crank pages faster than I would normally do. And that is how I was able to create the following three pages in one night. Awesome, right? Well here's a little video sharing my thoughts on each page and how they were inspired by the sketch above....
