Hello my crafty friends. Happy 'hump' day. Today I'm sharing a page inspired by one of the latest sketches over at the Sketch N Scrap blog.
I liked the banner strips on the sketch, It was the perfect accent to use some of my scrap papers. I have been busy working on my third child's baby album. So you might be seeing lots of baby themed pages in my blog for the next few posts. *wink*
I had put together a kit a while back before I started on my baby album. I'm almost out of a lot of items so I used two different letters for my title. In my publishing days, I would not have done this, but since I'm now scrapbooking solely on preserving memories for my family, I went with it. Something about the "hodge podge" look of the letters is kinda cool and refreshing in my eyes.
I decided to add the pen stitched circle accents a little higher on my page (versus on the sketch) to accommodate my larger photos. I also made the third photo (on the far right) overlap with the other two, again because my pictures were larger in size.
I added some stickers and the 'boy' accent is a cut out from paper.
I added some pen lines and then handwritten my journaling. I actually video taped my children during this "gender reveal" event and I plan to burn that on a CD and then add it to the back of this page for a memorabilia.
I know that I don't do much pages about the men/boys in my life so this prompt came at the perfect time.

I used my Cameo cutting machine to create my title plus the hearts that I sprinkled around the page. To add some texture to the hearts, I added dots of glossy accents to the heart. If you are doing the same technique, just make sure you let it dry completely before you touch it.
To add some interest to my cut out, I added some pen stitching around the word "heart".

Most of the papers used on this page was from the Memorandum line of Pink Paislee. The exception was the butterflies which I created with a free cut file and my Cameo die cut machine. I used some scraps for them.
I am getting back into using my Thickers again. For some reason, I go through phases of using and not using them. I don't know why that is, its just is!
I added some gold splatters from the Heidi Swapp gold mist to finish off the page.
I also added some wood embellishments from We R Memory Keepers around the page.
This latest sketch was inspired by the following sketch from Sketches in Thyme.
I love the circular pattern and decided to use that shape to add some label stickers from My Minds Eye all around my photos.
The title was a mixture of various letter stickers and embellishments. It might look a bit disorganized but I like the "ranson" feel of them.
I tried the rolled up thread accent on this page that I've seen many people do on YouTube lately.
I also added some circle stickers and stars cut out from my Cameo machine.
The top and bottom of the page felt a bit empty so I added a "triangle" shape from pattern paper and adhered that to two corners of the layout. I also added a label sticker and some machine stitching.
Hello my friends and Happy Tuesday. Spring is in the air and I'm excited about it. I am looking forward to more sunshine-y days, color popping back into nature with flowers blooming and green grass starting to come up again, and more outdoor activities. How about you?
I was inspired to use the latest color challenge over at Scrapbook.com for this page as well. I thought that it brought the Spring theme of the page perfectly. I printed off my photo collage at a 5x7 size and then matted it with yellow cardstock to make it stand out against the layered backgrounds.
The huge chipboard letters that spelled out my title is from a previous Studio Calico kit. I have always wanted to get one of those and I was happy to snag them when they were having a "mystery kit" sale for $5 per kit. Score!
I used this "older" edged pattern paper from My Mind's Eye and then cut out some doily designs from pattern paper as accents to my page.
I also added some puffy stickers from the Documentary line of Dear Lizzy on the page.
Happy Monday dear friends. Today's layout share was inspired by a color challenge at Scrapbook.com as well as the latest sketch from My Creative Sketches blog
I had printed my photos as a collage (which is one of the things I use lately to be more efficient in my scrapbooking) and so it occupied most of my page. I did however add some strips of papers on the top and bottom to add some interest and color on my page.
The color challenge was to use yellow and green. I also used the gold word "today" to make my title shine and it worked with the existing color since it's in the yellow family.
Since my photo collage was huge, I didn't have any where to add my typed journaling, so I just created a pocket where it can hide in.
Thank goodness it's Friday. What are your creative plans this weekend?
For me it's to do my big monthly shopping at Costco, put together some freezer meals and of course, squeeze in some crafting time.
Today's layout was another one from the March pile. I never get a chance to share it here.
It was inspired by a sketch challenge that I was too late to enter into. But I just love the triangle background and how it got me thinking outside of my comfort zone. I also used a bunch of scraps here which was a win win in my eyes.
I am back to typing my journaling lately. It gets me finishing up pages way sooner. I usually grab the stories from the blog, put a bunch of different journaling block on one 8 1/2 x 11 white cardstock, run it through my printer and then just cut it off as I work on that particular story. Easy peasy!
I also added some square brads from GCD Studios (they are no longer in business). I don't normally associate brads with the square shape but it worked on top of the round accent behind it.

I was also inspired by a technique challenge over at the My Mind's Eye blog challenge, which is to use a shaker element in your page.
These photos are of my daughter when I did a mini photo shoot with her before her baptism. I added the actual invitation (info blurred purposely) as part of the memorabilia of this event.
I found this cute frame from my MME stash and decided to use it for my shaker element. I added some transparency in the front then added some foam adhesives at the back edges of the frame, filled the open space with a little bit of sequence and then taped it to the page. The tail of the bird had the word "peace" on it and that didn't match my page theme so I added some small letter stickers, also from My Mind's Eye, to fit with my theme.
I have been hoarding all of these MME bits and pieces and I love how easily I can create a title with them. Felt good to use up a few of them in this page.
That heart was created with my Cameo and some scraps of paper. I finished it off with a brad from MME too.
Hello friends. Hope you are all having a great week so far. I wanted to share a few layouts with you in the next few days.
This first one was created in March. I'm sorry I was late at posting it, I had to deal with finals.
I was really in my "element" in the month of March. I was able to create 21 pages. That is a record for me for one month. If you wanna see the rest of the pages I created, you can view the video below...
Anyways, back to the page. It was actually based off of a challenge but I was late in submitting it. It was a sketch challenge and the sketch helped me use up a circle scallop paper that I have been hoarding for a looonnnnggg time!
The paper's center has been cut out for a prior page so I filled in the space with strips of pattern paper. I really had fun busting my scrap stash in March. I want to do the same in April.
Since my page is heavily designed in the center, I opted to add just a few embellishments around the circle to emphasize the shape.
I created my own arrows with some gold glittered paper.
